We decided to take a 3-day weekend (while we still could --- just the two of us) this past weekend. We rented a house on Lake Buchanan and took our furry kids with us. It was a nice getaway, very relaxing. The lake was very low but that was ok. It's not like I was going to jet ski or anything! :-) We toured two local wineries: Fall Creek Winery and Lost Creek Winery. Fall Creek actually has a special place in our hearts as we served their wine at our wedding last year! Jon tasted some great wines (I sniffed some great wines) and we ended up buying 12 total bottles of wine that we will enjoy after Shelby comes. Fall Creek Winery is just beautiful. The vineyards and buildings are gorgeous. They have a beautiful driveway up to the winery that is lined with cypress trees. Breathtaking. Lost Creek is a gorgeous winery as well. They have a stage where they have music on Friday and Saturday nights. Looks like they will be opening a bistro in the near future. They have an L-shaped bar that is carved wood. Part of the bar was from Dodge City back in the late 1800s (if I'm remembering the story correctly). They had a local carpenter replicate part of the bar so they could extend it as one huge bar. The original bar was only 22 feet long.

Oh our lake house is by Lost Creek! We haven't been there since they reopened after their flood. Maybe we'll stop by this weekend when we're at the lake. Glad ya'll had a nice weekend.
