Birthdays ROCK!

Yesterday we took Shelby to the Austin Children's Museum. She LOVED it! There were exhibits that she will love when she's a little older but there were also a lot of things she could do at her age. We were both very surprised. We also found lots of things that WE liked too! Needless to say, Shelby didn't want to leave when it was time to go but it was close to lunchtime and if we didn't leave, meltdown would ensue.

When we got home, we had a nice lunch and she went down for her nap. She napped over 3 hours, which is unheard of these days. She must have been exhausted! Then we just hung out and played in the backyard for awhile. Jon grilled out steaks for dinner and then we had a little birthday cake for the birthday girl. She thought it was so cool when we sang to her. Daddy helped her blow out the candles. She wanted the cake right away!

Previously in the day, I had relocated her little kitchen to her room and rearranged things in there. So after dinner, we went upstairs and played in her room. Shelby served me tea and we talked about our day! She seems to love that her kitchen and little table are in the same room together. We had a blast!

What a wonderful day. Birthday celebrations aren't done yet. Her party is Saturday and I'm really looking forward to celebrating with friends and family!
