Today Shelby is a week old and we took her to her first pediatrician visit. It was very chilly outside so we had to bundle her up. She's so little that the 0-3 month outfit seemed to swallow her whole!She's gained 8 ounces so her weight is now 7 lbs., 6 ounces. She was one of those rare case babies that didn't lose weight in the hospital. She actually gained 1 ounce during her hospital stay. The doctor said she looks great and looks like the "perfect baby" (and I quote). He said this is the way babies should look... her coloring was perfect and everything checked out! He was impressed that she didn't have to regain any weight from her hospital stay and that she had a healthy appetite.
Shelby also self soothes herself. We go in to peek on her in her crib and she's just lying there, looking around and smiling. She seems to be very content and happy.
