Here's 10 things we have noticed and adore about Shelby so far. There are many more things but we just narrowed the list down to 10. If we listed all the things, the blog would take up so much cyberspace that we just might bring the Internet to its knees.1. When we are bottle feeding her, she searches for the nipple by moving her neck a little with her mouth opened. It reminds us of little baby birds getting food from their Momma bird. So when we feed her, we call her "Little Birdie" or "Birdie". Wonder if that nickname will stick...
2. She loves to smile and she has the sweetest smile. I am not sure if it is a REAL smile or just a reflex. We do know, however, that it isn't gas!
3. She loves to give us the "Elvis" smile... Or maybe it is a "Billy Idol" smile... One side of her mouth kinda comes up.
4. She's ticklish! Jon would say she is as ticklish as me (which is pretty darn ticklish... just ask my massage therapist!). Jon is ticklish but he won't let on to how much. If I try to tickle him, he makes me stop in my tracks. :-) Chicken?? Hmmm...
5. The dogs don't seem to bother her. Actually, she doesn't really pay any attention to them. Probably because she can't see them yet. She can only see about 8 inches in front of her face and we don't allow them to get that close right now. Abby is in love with her and is very curious. If Abby could grab her and hug her, I think she would! Tasha just wants to know when Shelby will get big enough to throw a frisbee.
6. She doesn't mind just lying in her crib and "looking" around. She's very sweet and calm when she does that.
7. She has natural highlights. No kidding! She has this cute little "spot" of blond highlights. Already a glamorous gal!
8. She has the cutest little chin. So adorable! We just nuzzle her little chin and neck and kiss her. She's not old enough yet to let that drive her crazy and beg us to stop. We are taking full advantage of it while we can.
9. She loves to fall asleep in our arms. And she is so darn cute when she does it! Such a little angel.
10. Speaking of sleep, she is sleeping more at night. At first, she had her nights and days confused, which led to two incredibly difficult nights for both of us (and possibly a little breakdown from me... poor Jon...). Thankfully my mom was still in town during those two nights and didn't mind coming over at 1 a.m. or 3 a.m. to help out. Now Shelby only wakes us up 2 to 3 times per night for a change, a meal, and a rock in the glider.
